The Tesfer Realm is one of tens of millions of cosmic realms, each overseen by an administrator, and houses the continent of Endiness.[1]

Story

While very little is known about these realms, the administrator for the Tesfer Realm is strongly implied to be Soa since no other named entity is given such reverence and, "...to the inhabitants of the Tesfer Realm, such a being could only be considered divine."[1] However, their goals and intentions are vague at best. While many characters speak of Soa's will, there are actually only a few verified instances of Soa taking action: descending from heaven to sow the Divine Tree, granting a strong urge to destroy and little intelligence to the dragons, and reducing the intelligence of the 108th species. Soa's actions imply that they likely manipulated many forms of life produced by the Divine Tree. The consequences of these changes are the basis for the various interpretations of Soa's intentions. As there is at least a trend of giving physically powerful creatures less intelligence, if not outright belligerence, many have concluded that Soa's desire is for the world to be destroyed. This assumption is often referred to as, "the fate determined by Soa." Some believe that Soa wishes for the destruction and then regeneration of the world, while others believe that Soa's intent is for life to struggle but ultimately triumph over fate. There are many interpretations and variations of Soa's will, and there will likely never be a conclusive answer as to why Soa gave life to the world or what outcome they desired for it.

Trivia

  1. The phase transitions in the battle with Melbu Frahma represent the various stages the world went through because of Soa. The void, the barren world, violent rains, the spawning of life, and the great tragedy to befall humanity / the world.
  2. Tesfer is an anagram of Fester, though it is only known as a coincidence.
