Dimensions
Dimensions are the physical spaces whose boundaries separate one reality from another. As each dimension acts as a separate reality, the physics and properties that govern those realities can vary. They are typically accessed using magic.
Known Dimensions
Tesfer
The Tesfer Realm houses Endiness and is largely where the events of the story unfold.[1]
Emille's Portrait
A space created by Lenus that is linked to another dimension. Accessed through touching the portrait depicting Emille, it contains two platforms and Emille sleeping on a plush chair. When Shana fails to transform into a Dragoon while within this space, Rose comments that it is difficult to transform outside of battle and that the magic of the space rejects Dragoons. A pulsing light can be interacted with to summon a bridge of light connecting the two platforms. When first entered, Emille does not initially awaken and appears to be kept under a magical slumber. She does not appear to have eaten or moved for the months kept inside, although whether this is a property of the dimension or a separate spell used by Lenus is unknown. When Emille leaves the dimension, the portrait changes to depict only an empty chair.
Forest of Winglies
The Forest of Winglies is a small village of Winglies connected to the Evergreen Forest. It is obscured from normal spacetime and can only be accessed by Winglies.[2].
Ulara
Ulara is a large oasis town hidden in the vast Death Frontier. Existing between dimensions, those within the town do not age.[3]. It can only be accessed by Wingly magic or Rose using her choker.
Moon That Never Sets
The Moon That Never Sets is the egg which will birth the Virage Embryo, the 108th fruit. It doubles as a place where thoughts manifest into reality and spacetime is no longer concrete or linear.[4].
Dimensions in Combat
Dragoon Space
Created by a Dragoon transforming alongside other Dragoons, this dimension drowns out the appearance of the material world and replaces it with an energy aura attuned to the lead Dragoon's element.[5] This strengthens the power of any ability matching that element, while weakening the power of any opposing-element abilities. Once the Dragoon de-transforms, the surroundings return to normal and all effects dissipate.
Darkness Dragoon
Two of Rose's Dragoon spells involve dimensions.
- Death Dimension captures a physical area in a flat or 2-Dimensional still image that spins until Rose shatters it. Creatures caught inside take damage and are afflicted with Fear, but otherwise return to normal space.
- Demon's Gate banishes living beings to another dimension permanently. Mechanically, this is treated as inflicting Instant Death. In addition to Dragoon magic, it also requires a payment in blood. It is unknown if the targets can ever return.
Thunder Dragoon
Both Haschel and Kanzas can summon a Dragon with their fourth spell: Violet Dragon. This creature appears to break into reality from an unknown dimension.
Kubila
Kubila can use his scythe to carve out part of normal space which unfolds to reveal an unknown dimension. A frog-like creature peeks through long enough to attack, before retreating back to its dimension.
Polter Sword
The Polter Sword can cut a circle in the ground which shatters open a hole to an unknown dimension. An avian claw emerges to attack before vanishing.
