			Initially the world was completely barren and devoid of life before Soa planted a seed into the earth from which the Divine Tree grew. Its 108 fruits each bore a unique species to populate the world. From the 107th fruit came winglies, who held supremacy over all other forms of life even going so far as to suspend the birth of the 108th species. Born with both intelligence and vast magical power, they were capable of wondrous feats. While there were those who wished to live as equals with other races, many winglies held no regard for the lives of slaves and treated them as little more than playthings.

			The oppression of winglies led humans to found the Holy Empire of Gloriano as a seat of rebellion. Yet open conflict would not begin until humanity discovered that the power of Dragons crystalized at the moment of death and could be taken at that critical moment. Known as Dragoon Spirits, these powerful artifacts granted those who they recognized the power to transform into a Dragon Knight, a [[Dragoon]]. Armed with the power of seven Dragoons, the humans and other enslaved races fought against their oppressors in what would come to be known as the [[Dragon Campaign]].
