Haschel is the martial arts mentor to protagonist Dart and is first seen in Lohan. Haschel is an older man dressed in a purple and martial arts tunic and red headband around his black long hair. When the party meets Haschel, he is on a journey to find his daughter.
Personality
Haschel incapsulates the duality of fun and authority. He holds his hands behind his back in a posture of authority, but softens the stance by leaning forward. This relaxed stance and shuffling steps also hides his mastery over hand-to-hand combat and its forms. Always chuckling, Haschel encourages others to have a mature spirit so that they may grow stronger.

Haschel is defeated by LLoyd in the semi-finals and advises that Dart use his upcoming battle with the finalist as "a test for himself," implying that Dart will not be able to win either. Haschel is crowned third strongest in Endiness, under Dart and Lloyd. The competition over, the group compliment's Lloyd's sword mastery and return to the general event area. Haschel is introduced to Dart's friends and states that he's been looking for his daughter since about the same time as Dart's search for the Black Monster. To return to levity, he attempts to entreat himself to the women of the party and assumes that his requests are being denied due to one of them being Dart's sweetheart. He continues to tease Dart in this way, offering to play minigames with Shana when Dart doesn't immediately state whom he'd go with.
Minigames over, the group head out of Lohan to continue their respective journeys. At the gate, a critically wounded Knight of Bale enters the town and warns Lavitz that King Albert is being held in Hellena Prison. Lavtiz immediately attempts to race to the prison, only stopping when Haschel knocks the knight out with a swift blow. Upon his recovery at Sanator's medical facility, Haschel scolds Lavitz for attempting to run off and get himself killed. He informs the party that Bale is under occupation by the Empire of Sandora, and that King Albert had willingly given himself up to defend the people of Basil. He then insists that the party save the king in due haste- with clear minds. Deciding to put his 20-year journey to find his daughter aside, Master Haschel joins the party to Hellena Prison. The group is able to save King Albert, but at the cost of Lavitz's life and losing the Moon Gem. The martial arts master also agrees to join the group to Black Castle to defeat Emperor Doel and end the Serdian War.
