Combat

Despite the visual cues suggesting otherwise, Urobolus only deals physical damage and may attack single targets or the entire party at once. It is able to inflict the Poison status ailment with 100% certainty, so equipping a Poison Guard is recommended. Otherwise, use Body Purifiers to cure it. After its third turn, Urobolus will enter an semi-invulnerability state where Dart and Lavitz will not be able to attack it with Additions. Shana will still be able to reach it with her bow. It is possible to defeat Urobolus before it enters its semi-invulnerable state by having Dart and Lavitz use successful Additions while Shana throws attack items.

Abilities

Bosses act primarily according to a set of "if → then" rules and may change behavior depending on player input. Conditions are criteria, if any, that must be met in order for a Boss to take a particular action on its regular turn. When there are multiple eligible actions that a Boss can take, the Boss will select one of those actions at random. Bosses will perform an action in italics immediately, ignoring turn order, as soon as its conditions are met in addition to the Boss' regular turn.

Conditions Action Target Effect Notes
Spit Single Inflicts 1x physical damage and 100% chance to inflict Poison Target's A-AV reduces chance to receive status ailment
On floor (not in invulnerable state) Bite Single Inflicts 1x physical damage
In rock (in invulnerable state) Poison Mist Party Inflicts 1x physical damage
Third turn from start of battle or
third turn since boss returned to floor
Slither Away Self Additions automatically miss and disable Bite for two turns Used every three turns not including any turns spent "in rock"
*Almost all abilities do not have official names. The community came up with approximate names to help readers distinguish them. The few official names are marked with an asterisk in the above table.
