Dragon
Dragons are creatures with great destructive capability and magical prowess. They were common before the eponymous Dragon Campaign, where they became the answer to Wingly oppression. Thought to be extinct, some of them have survived.
History
Dragons are the 105th fruit of the Divine Tree, possessing great destructive power. About 11,682 years ago, their importance grew dramatically. Winglies were subjugating many species, including humans and Dragons. Eventually, Dragons became part of a bloody uprising. Humans had discovered that when a Dragon dies, they leave behind a magical gem which can be harnessed and used to don some of their abilities forever afterward. This gave humans a new power to rival the immense magical capabilities of the Winglies. Presumably, many Dragons were lost in the ensuing war known as the Dragon Campaign, as they are thought to be extinct in the present.
Present
There are only a handful of known Dragons left: Feyrbrand, Regole, and the Divine Dragon.

Appearance
Dragons come in a wide variety of shapes and sizes. The eyes are the prime similarity between them. Their shapes can very greatly, appearing as empowered versions of normal creatures like a mantis, beetle, or fish. Some even look otherworldly, with strange propulsion on their backsides.
Characteristics
The abilities of any given Dragon vary wildly, made similar only by their eyes, magical properties, and thus their elemental attribute. Many, but not all, can fly.
Hierarchy
All Dragons born to the world have two traits that determine where they fit in a hierarchy. Each Dragon is of a specific element, and has between 1-7 eyes. The eye count determines how much power a Dragon has, as well as whether they rule or are subservient to other Dragons. This eye count is important even when Dragons die to create Dragoon Spirits.
Dragoons also factor into this hierarchy, though it is only one-way. Dragoons are able to command Dragons with certain restrictions. First, the element must match. Second, the Dragoon Spirit of the Dragoon must have come from a Dragon with at least one more eye than the target living Dragon. For example, Rose's Dragoon Spirit came from a six-eyed Dragon. Therefore, she can command any Darkness-element Dragon with five or less eyes. Michael, Rose's vassal Dragon from the Dragon Campaign, meets this criteria.
