Jiango is a monstrous Earth-elemental creature held in the basement of Hellena Prison. Often referred to as a "Pet" by Fruegel or as "The Monster" by the Wardens, the prisoners themselves are referred to as "Feed".
Story
While not seen directly in the first visit of Hellena Prison, Jiango is alluded to when a Hellena Warden attempts to intimidate a Knight of Basil. The warden tells the knight he would regret not being killed on the battlefield, as now he will be fed to "The Monster". Later, when the party meets Fruegel after rescuing Shana, Fruegel tells the party that Dart and Lavitz would be "Feed for the pet". Shana is only exempt due to the Hooded Man's orders that she be unharmed.

During the second visit to Hellena Prison, after being made to navigate a new and unfamiliar path unavailable during the first visit, the party finds themselves surrounded by Hellena Wardens whilst standing over a metal grate. The Wardens taunt the party, telling them that their strength in battle doesn't matter, as they are still "Feed". The metal grate then opens, plunging the party into a cave-like dungeon with multiple bones and skulls visible. After a quick investigation of the room, the party hears multiple agitated roars. Jiango, a creature that has lived deep underground within the prison for ages, reveals itself and the battle begins.

Traits
Bosses often possess passive effects which modify standard battle mechanics. None of these are given official names, so the community used approximate names.
Passives | Effects | Requires |
---|---|---|
Retaliate | Ignore turn order and use Arm Slam, Jump, or Smelly Breath | Chance to trigger when targeted by an attack. |
Abilities
Boss behavior often changes from player input as most of them use "if → then" rules. Conditions are criteria that must be met in order for a Boss to take a particular action. With multiple eligible actions, the Boss selects one at random. Below are some key terms that appear frequently, so are defined here for brevity.
Auto - Found under the Conditions column, this means the Action will be used on the enemy’s next turn if the other conditions are met.
Ignore Turn Order - Usually paired with the Retaliate action, this means the current values which determine turn order do not change from this action being taken.
Action | Target | Effect | Conditions |
---|---|---|---|
~Fall Asleep | Self | Use Do Nothing for next 3 actions, including Retaliate | When hit by Sachet, ignore turn order and use Fall Asleep. Only used when hit by Sachet. |
~Do nothing | N/A | Does nothing | - |
~Arm Slam | Single | Inflicts 1x Physical damage | - |
~Jump | Party | Inflicts 1.5x Physical damage | - |
~Smelly Breath | Single | 100% chance to inflict Confusion | Target's A-AV reduces chance to receive status ailment |
*As most abilities do not have official names, the community came up with approximate names marked with an ~ in the above table.

Trivia
- While in Jiango's cave, their roars can be heard in the Hellena Prison soundtrack.
- Within the foreground of the dungeon, two human skulls on a rock are easy to identify; affirming the rumors of "feed for the monster."
- Unlike other creatures regarded as "Pets" by Fruegel, Jiango appears to have a large neck collar and a wrist restraint; both have broken chains dangling from them. This could have the implication that Jiango is also a prisoner in Hellena.
- Jiango bears a striking resemblance to the Rancor, a creature that appears within the Star Wars films and universe.
