Stardust is an optional collectible that can be found through out most of the game. You can start collecting it as early as your first visit in [[Seles]], but it has no scripted use until you meet [[Martel]] in the city of [[Bale]]. There, she gives you a brief history of the stones, as well as offering rewards for bringing her all the Stardust you can find. She describes them as miracle stones that will grant your wish if you manage to collect them all. There are 50 in total, and you must collect all of them in order to fight the optional boss [[Magician Faust]] on Disc 3.

Martel doesn't initially reveal why she needs you to collect Stardust for her. It isn't until you find her in her home in [[Rouge]], standing beside [[Lil]], her bedridden sick daughter, that she explains what her wish is. Once she has all of the Stardust in her possession, it turns out the rumors were true. Martel's wish completely heals her daughter of her sickness.

Stardust has not always been around. It appeared some time after the war broke out in Serdio, between Sandora and Basil. The Winglies in Ulara observed the war brewing, and decided to give humans hope by creating small particles that have symbolism. It was scattered across many lands, including Serdio. Eventually, a rumor brewed that it can grant one's wish or bring good fortune. There are more than 50 pieces; that's just the lore-removed total that the player can collect.

Stardust is a collectible hidden throughout Endiness. Known as the "wishing stone," it is said to bring hope to those that find it. They can be given to the traveler Martel in various cities. She will always accept more Stardust until all 50 are in her possession.

Story

After an abrupt encounter near Bale's entrance, Martel can be found in the other home accessible through Slambert Plaza. There, she provides a brief history of the stones, as well as offering rewards for bringing them to her. She describes them as miracle stones that will grant one's wish if they manage to collect them all.

Speaking with her in Rouge, she reveals her wish to heal her bedridden child Lil. Depending on the amount of Stardust given, the success of Martel's wish will vary.

Created by the Winglies of Ulara to bring back the hopes and dreams of Humans who were worn out by the Dragon Campaign, the magic of Stardust materialize prayers spoken with purity.

Martel's Locations

  1. Bale - After bumping into Martel when attempting to leave Bale, she will reside in a house to the left of Lavitz's home. She is briefly unavailable while Shana is recovering in Lohan, and leaves permanently once the Hero Competition begins.
  2. Fletz - After the party stays in town overnight, Martel appears in Kaffi's bar. She leaves permanently after the Divine Dragon attacks Deningrad.
  3. Deningrad - After Shana is bedridden at the hotel, Martel appears across the street from the item and weapon shops tending to the injured. She becomes inaccessible after the party finds out the truth in Vellweb, and permanently leaves once the party reaches Rouge.
  4. Rouge - Martel can be found on the upper level, in the room the mayor has his back to.

Martel's Rewards

For every 10 Stardust given in total, Martel offers a unique and otherwise unobtainable reward. The rewards given are always in the same order, shown in the table below.

Collecting Stardust

Interacting with the environment will usually yield a description or dialogue, but sometimes a Stardust will be found instead. While there are no visual indicators or hints given for where a Stardust might be, their locations never change so it is possible to simply use a guide to find them all.
