Seles is a small village near the southeastern border of Serdio. It is the easternmost known settlement in Serdio and, therefore, it is also the easternmost known settlement on Endiness. To the east, it is bordered by mountains and valleys belonging to an unknown territory. Ordinarily, travel between Seles and Bale is possible via the Prairie and Limestone Cave, but the recent occupation of the cave by a so-called guardian has made the trip dangerous. Dart and Shana have lived together in Seles since they were children. As Dart returns from a five-year journey in pursuit of the Black Monster, he finds the village in ruin.
Story
Seles is assaulted in the middle of the night by a company of Sandora soldiers. Flaming artillery batters the stone buildings, setting the village ablaze. Villagers flee as mounted soldiers charge among them. After the chaos has settled, the Great Commander rides into the village to arrest Shana, who is subdued and unconscious. He confirms her identity by holding a gem above her head which shines brightly and seems to connect to her forehead. The Great Commander asks a hooded man about Shana's significance, but the man brushes him off by stating it is the order of Emperor Doel and that her significance is not his concern. Having completed their objective, the Sandoran forces withdraw from the smoldering village.

The following morning in a forest on the outskirts of Seles, the commotion of retreating troops draws Dart's attention. He and two mounted soldiers engage in a brief stand-off but are interrupted by the Dragon Feyrbrand, which scares off the soldiers and attacks Dart. As he breaks line of sight while fleeing, a passing warrior darts past, pulling Dart into cover behind a large boulder to hide. She urges him to remain silent if he does not wish to die. Feybrand searches for Dart, violently striking a cliff face to startle him out of hiding, but then departs once he fails to give himself away. Dart asks about the Dragon, and she muses that the nearby village would easily have been subdued even without a Dragon. Realizing that she must be referring to Seles, Dart rushes over a hill to find the remains of Seles still smoking. As he steps out of view, something begins to glow on the warrior leaving her astonished. Dart hurries into the village and immediately confronts two Sandoran troops threatening to kill a wounded survivor.
After Dart defeats them, the survivor urges Dart to help Shana but dies before explaining more. Proceeding further into the village, Dart reunites with his friend Plos, who is injured but relieved to see that Dart has returned from his quest. Plos elaborates that Shana, Dart's childhood friend, has been abducted, noting that her capture seemed to be the attack's primary objective. Without a moment to react, they are approached by a Commander who reveals that Shana has been taken to Hellena Prison, before charging forward with his sword drawn. Dart dispatches him, then assures Plos that he will return with Shana.
Dart finds a few more survivors including two children, Isha and Lowe, who mistake him for a Sandoran soldier and attempt to fight him. They quickly resolve the misunderstanding, and the children decide to gather herbs for Plos and the other casualties. Also among the survivors is Tasman, who taught Dart swordsmanship. He urges Dart to spar with him to ensure that his pupil is strong enough to rescue Shana. Tasman also warns that he will embark on a quest soon, so the offer for a spar will not remain for long. Dart then sets out for Hellena Prison.
If Shana returns to Seles after her visit to Bale, she is distraught upon seeing the ruined town. Dart consoles her by promising to come back later to rebuild. Some of the survivors reveal that most of the residents actually survived, including Shana's parents. However, they are missing at this time.
After storming Hellena Prison for a second time, the survivors reveal that her father the mayor is said to be in another village along with her mother.
If Shana returns to Seles after visiting Fletz, her parents will be there to reunite with her.
If Dart returns to Seles while Shana is resting in Deningrad, her parents will ask about her, and ponder if the journey was too much for her after all.
If Dart returns to Seles while Shana has been taken, he will lie to her parents about her true whereabouts, and they will have an identical reaction as though she was still resting in Deningrad.

Trivia
- A woman in Seles indicates that Shana may not have been the only abductee during the raid. The woman's father was also taken, although this might simply refer to him losing his life during the attack as his grandson notes confirms his passing later on.
- This is the first location where named non-player characters can be missed by the player. Two children, Isha and Lowe, can be encountered by entering the building that Plos is leaning against.
- Left over in the game files is an early draft of Seles. It has a lower camera angle and is much more gray than the final version. It can be accessed by external means. The player is able to move around as a draft version of Dart's model. A low-resolution, cropped version of the screen is still used in-game as the world map preview for Seles.
