Seles is a small village near the southeastern border of Serdio. It is the current hometown of Dart and Shana. As Dart returns from a five-year journey in pursuit of the Black Monster, he finds the village in ruin.
After Dart defeats them, the survivor urges Dart to help Shana and quickly dies without further explanation. Dart proceeds further into the village and reunites with his friend Plos, who is also injured but relieved to see that Dart has returned from his quest. Plos elaborates that Shana, Dart's childhood friend, has been abducted, noting that her capture seemed to be the attack's primary objective. Dart is left with no time to digest this information as he is approached by a Commander. The Commander reveals that Shana has been taken to Hellena Prison, then charges forward to attack. Dart dispatches him, then assures Plos that he will return with Shana.

Dart finds a few more survivors including two children, Isha and Lowe, who at first mistake him for a Sandoran soldier and attempt to fight him. They quickly resolve the misunderstanding, and the children decide to gather herbs for Plos and the other casualties. Also among the survivors is Tasman, who taught Dart how to sword fight. Tasman urges Dart to spar with him, wanting to ensure that his pupil is good enough to rescue Shana. Tasman warns Dart that should he desire advice, she must ask for it now as Tasman will embark on his own quest soon. Dart then sets out for Hellena Prison.
;Introduction
In the opening, the ground is set ablaze by order of Fruegel, head warden of Hellena Prison. Soldiers advance on horseback as villagers flee. Houses burn, up through the rooftops. The Great Commander rides into the village, escorted to where Shana has been captured. After a short discussion with the Hooded Man, she is taken away to Hellena.

A majority of the buildings are burned down and destroyed, the survivors forced to live in ruins of their old homes. Dart arrives near Seles the next day, reading about a rumored war approaching from a news pamphlet. Upon hearing the galloping of horses, Dart gets up and is greeted by two soldiers. They question whether Dart is a mercenary with their weapons drawn at him. Dart draws his sword himself, startling one of the soldiers. Before anything could happen, a thundering noise approaches the three. A Dragon appears, causing the two guards to flee. Dart tries to fend off the dragon, but has to escape after realizing its power. While trying to run, a woman dashes over to Dart and brings him behind a forested area where the Dragon cannot see him. The woman mentions after they are safe that "that village" could have easily been destroyed without a Dragon. Dart questions her statement, and suddenly realizes she must be talking about Seles. Dart exclaims that Seles is his village, and rushes off towards it. Dart returns to find the village destroyed like she said; some buildings still smoldering. As he enters the village, he encounters some stragglers from the attack and fights to protect the remaining villagers.
If Shana returns to Seles after her visit to Bale, she thoroughly inspects the damage and is distraught by it. Dart consoles her by promising to come back later to rebuild. They also learn that most of the residents actually survived, including Shana's parents, the mayor and his wife. However, they are missing at this time.

Seles is a small village near the southeastern border of Serdio. It is the easternmost known settlement in Serdio and, therefore, it is also the easternmost known settlement on Endiness. To the east, it is bordered by mountains and valleys belonging to an unknown territory. Ordinarily, travel between Seles and Bale is possible via the Prairie and Limestone Cave, but the recent occupation of the cave by a so-called guardian has made the trip dangerous. Dart and Shana have lived together in Seles since they were children. As Dart returns from a five-year journey in pursuit of the Black Monster, he finds the village in ruin.

Story

Seles is assaulted in the middle of the night by a company of Sandora soldiers. Flaming artillery batters the stone buildings and sets the streets and surrounding structures on fire. Villagers flee as mounted soldiers charge among them. After the chaos has settled, the Great Commander rides into the village to arrest Shana, who is subdued and unconscious. The following morning in a forest on the outskirts of Seles, the commotion of retreating troops draws Dart's attention. He and two mounted soldiers engage in a brief stand-off but are interrupted by the Dragon Feyrbrand, which scares off the soldiers and accosts Dart. As Dart flees from the beast, he is rescued by a female passerby, who swoops in to intercept Dart and hide behind a large boulder. Realizing that she must be referring to Seles, Dart rushes over a hill to find the remains of Seles still smoking while the passerby stays behind, astonished that something on her person has responded to Dart's presence in the form of a bright glow. Dart urgently enters the village and immediately confronts two Sandoran troops threatening to kill a wounded survivor.

After Dart defeats them, the survivor urges Dart to help Shana and quickly dies without further explanation. Trivia

 1. A woman in Seles indicates that Shana was not the only abductee during the raid. The woman's father was also taken for unknown reasons.
 2. This is the first location where named non-player characters can be missed by the player. Two children, Isha and Lowe, can be encountered by entering the building that Plos is leaning against.
 3. Left over in the game files is an early draft of Seles. It has a lower camera angle and is much more gray than the final version. It can be accessed by external means. The player is able to move around as a draft version of Dart's model. A low-resolution, cropped version of the screen is still used in-game as the world map preview for Seles.
