<!--Initial expansion of synopsis. Provide an opening paragraph or two. What has this character done, and where have they been? What are they like, and what are their motivations? Use their involvement in the game's events as a guide. For Player Characters, please separate content with headings for chapter 1-4. Begin a line with a semicolon followed by chapter number, i.e. ";Chapter 1". This creates a heading that doesn't count as a section header in the page's table of contents.
Additional writing is to be added in the below div tag, below where the "Additional Text Goes Here" comment appears. The code it is wrapped in, will allow the Story section to have one paragraph showing by default, and the rest of the write-up expanded via a "Read More" button. This prevents the rest of the page contents being pushed very far down by default in the event that a reader is not looking for story content at the moment, while still allowing anyone to opt-in. Apart from the div and span tags, proceed to format the story content as you would ordinarily.-->

Rose is the first in-game character that we are introduced to in the story, after the opening cutscene. She is a serious woman and an experienced fighter - yet she remains reserved about the events of her past. Rose has long, black hair with fringes that frame her face, and gray eyes paired with crimson lips.

Personality and Traits

Rose is curt and aloof, only showing amusement or interest when watching someone overcome great odds or utterly fail. Conversations after her joining the party reveal that she is accustomed to sacrifice and accepts death in a passive and at times morbid way. However, as Rose continues with the party, she reveals herself to be a true hero with a good, if scarred, heart.

Story

Chapter 1: Serdian War

Rose is the first character seen in the game. In the first cutscene, she is overlooking a forest landscape, watching the destructive route of the dragon Feyrbrand. Using incredible agility, she jumps down the cliffside and enters the forest. When she approaches the dragon, she finds the protagonist, a young man in red armor, being harassed by the creature. Rose is able to sweep Dart out of the dragon's sight before he is killed. The dragon leaves and Rose confirms that the dragon is part of a war and mentions that its presence was not necessary to destroy Seles. Dart exclaims that that's his child hood home and sprints off to salvage whatever remains. As Rose watches him leave, her purple gem begins to glow, much to her surprise. She thoughtfully watches the warrior's path.

As the fourth member of the party, Rose rescues Dart and Lavitz during the battle at Hoax. She calls upon Dart's Father's memento, and triggers him into transforming into a knight of legend; a dragoon. Dart is then able to defeat Kongol, though Rose is not impressed after the fight. She agrees to train Dart so that they may continue on and be able to defeat the dragon fighting on behalf of the Sandora Empire. This begins a dragoon tutorial.

While traveling to the dragon, the party goes through the Volcano Villude. There, Rose maneuvers the party past the Phoenix and deep though the caverns. Shana suddenly breaks from the party, mentally compelled or "called" by a stone statue in the lava. The party investigates and Rose warns them that the statue is a Virage that is still alive. Just as humans used dragoons, Rose explained, winglies used virage during the Dragon Campaign. The virage is then awakened by the nearby aura of Dart and Rose's dragoon spirits and a battle commences.

The party continue through the forest and Fort Marshland towards the dragon, with Rose providing minor commentary throughout. They are able to defeat Greham and Feyrbrand, but Shana's spirit is sickened by the the dragon's poison and is rushed to Lohan. As she is unable to be cured by the local doctor, the group venture to a nearby temple and meet an old friend of Rose's, Shirley. There is no dragooni flower in the temple to cure Shana, but Shirley provides her White Silver Dragoon spirit, as the shining resonance of the white silver dragoon spirit has healing properties. Shirley assures Rose that their paths will cross again and that her agonizing journey will end as she ascends to the land of the dead, no longer bound by the dragoon spirit. Rose continues to look up to where Shirley was last as Dart and Lavitz walk away, silent.

With Shana healed, the party prepare to enter the Hero Competition to test their mettle against all other heroes of Endiness. In the end only Dart joins - Rose declines, saying that she's too good. After the event, Rose is introduced to Dart's old master and competition participant Haschel and scoffs at his flippant manner. She is shortly after aggravated by Lavitz, who tries to drag her off on a date to encourage Dart and Shana to play minigames together. She punches Lavitz and he begs her to play along, which she apparently doesn't as they are seen in two different areas.

The levity turns grave as a wounded knight crawls into Lohan, telling Lavitz that King Albert has been captured and is held captive in Hellena Prison. Informed by Haschel that the Kingdom of Bale is also under Sandoran occupation, the party regroup and rush to King Albert's rescue. They are able to defeat the head warden Fruegal, but during the fight, The Hooded Man, now revealed as hero competition champion Lloyd, is able to kill Lavitz in one fell swoop with what Rose recognizes as a Dragon Buster. The party hide King Albert in Seles and discuss their next steps, as Albert no longer has access to his army to fight Sandora. King Albert advises that they attack Emperor Doel at the Black Castle directly using their power as dragoons, and Rose agrees to accompany the party. The defeat of the emperor does not clarify why Lloyd requested Shana to be captured, stole the Moon Gem from Albert, and wields a Dragon Buster, however. The emperor's dying words are for King Albert to seek Lloyd in Tiberoa, which is the party's next destination.
