Hi everyone! I’m excited to announce a new community project: the Legend of Dragoon Fan Magazine – or fanzine for short. Strange Omens is behind this project, which shares our general goals of creativity and shining a spotlight on our community members. Right now we’re in the gauging-interest phase, so please fill out a brief form linked in the next part of this article.
Modern fanzines, also referred to as simply as zines, are unofficial fan-made made publications featuring artwork, prose, and cosplay – often incorporating a variety of merchandise. They range from digital-only releases to physical prints. More info about fanzines in general at the end of this article.
To stay updated on the project, check out the Carrd page for information and links to social media. All support for this project is appreciated. Of course, you’ll also get key development updates and release news here on legendofdragoon.org.
Gauging Interest (Tell Us You Want It!)
We want feedback from anyone interested in the fanzine – as a reader, a contributor, or a mod. Please fill out this form to convey your interest and have an impact on what will be offered in the zine. It only takes a moment, so make your voice heard! The interest check is open until March 16th. The more people we hear from, the better!
Submission New Artwork & Prose!
Contributor applications opening up March 19th. We’ll be looking for artists, writers, and alternative creators (which includes cosplay)! For this project, we will only be accepting artwork that is created specifically for the zine and cannot be posted publicly until the project is released. More information on contributor guidelines will be made available closer to the application window – stay tuned for that!
Help Wanted – Moderators
We are also seeking experienced moderators that will help keep the zine on track and successful, fill out the mod application by March 16th if you’d like to be considered.
About Fanzines
Searching for tags like zinepromo, atozines, and zineapps on most popular social media are a great way to see what’s out there! There is also a dedicated Discord server called Zine Town that is a great way to informed about upcoming zines (on a variety of topics – not just games), getting involved with zines, and finding resources for successfully organizing your own from a knowledgeable community.
