Hello everyone! I’m DrewUniverse, unofficial community organizer for the Legend of Dragoon. Today I bring you the first update on our global effort to get this game re-introduced to the gaming industry.

The global campaign to petition for a Legend of Dragoon remake has reached its minimum goal of 11,682 signatures in less than ten days! Well done everybody! This number was used because within the game, it’s the number of years that have passed since the Dragon Campaign ended. Our next goal is 15,000 signatures, and I’m confident we will surpass it. Keep spreading word that our united push is located at https://legendofdragoon.org/petition.

Speaking of networking, there are multiple community hubs for your enjoyment. You can connect with other fans on Discord, Reddit, Facebook, or even an in-house forum on the main website! Links will be provided in the video description.

Since I launched this campaign on the game’s 20th anniversary (2 Dec 1999), a lot has happened. The rate of signatures has been quite high, gaining over a thousand signatures a day on average. Our campaign has been so incredibly moving, that composer Dennis Martin spoke out on Twitter about his involvement. He says, quote:

“20 years ago I scored the music to Legend Of Dragoon for PlayStation. It was a massive project with an amazing team & I still have great memories. Happy Anniversary! Thank you to everyone for the kind messages. Do you still believe in love?”

Dennis Martin on Twitter

Dennis includes a photo showcasing some never-before-seen official sheet music for the theme song, If You Still Believe. In the upper-right, you can see an alternate title for the track – called Fall From The Sky! There’s also a manila folder with who-knows-what kind of LoD treasure.

Right after that, we got a tweet from none other than the vocalist for If You Still Believe, currently going by Elsa Cornish! Her quote:

“20 years ago I had the honor of laying down the vocals on If You Still Believe, theme song of Legend of Dragoon. Thank you Dennis Martin for the opportunity and for such beautiful writing and composition!”

Elsa Cornish on Twitter

Support from both of these individuals is staggeringly awesome for our fandom. And we’re just getting started! So how do we keep our current momentum? I believe that we need to work together in reaching out to additional gaming publications. A single news article can spawn a dozen behind it, as evidenced by our existing media coverage from smaller groups like GameRant and Dualshockers. All it takes is one big break to start making the headlines. If you decide to help on this front, however, please do so with respect rather than spamming or disrespecting these media outlets. Our passion is unending, but it’s important to channel it.

I’d also like to note that the fanbase for Legend of Dragoon is far more “global” than most of us realized. There are people signing this petition from all kinds of countries around the world, and our remake petition has been covered by multiple languages including Italian, German, Hungarian, and Czech. I’m telling you, there are a lot of us out there. If we can unite, the chances for a remake are substantially improved.

This unity is further pursued by the global fansite, https://legendofdragoon.org. It is a new location meant to act as your central hub of game knowledge, community news, resources, and projects!

Various happenings on a given social network will be highlighted, from the FB group’s Christmas song tradition to the GameFAQs forum’s ongoing Riddle game. We are also developing an in-house wiki with high standards of teamwork, security, and accurate data. The resource archive is a community project housing all the known game data we have managed to scrounge up with the help of archivists and modders – from accurate equipment stats to rare concept art to additional lore found only in the Japanese guidebook! As fans of the game you deserve it.

For now, I’d like to close with a gallery of select imagery, including official concept art and renders thought to be lost. I have been quite moved by this fandom’s passion, so it’s my turn to inspire you.  Here’s the gallery, played to an unused song from Dragoon that I believe was an alternate ending theme. Thanks, and I’ll see you in the next update.

I’ve tried to sign the campaign roster for the remaster/remake and it keeps telling me an error has occurred. I’ve shared it to my Facebook in hopes it will spread! This game was and is one the greatest games Ive ever played!!! Im soo sad it was swept under the rug and never given it’s due credit It would be amazing to finally see it shine and be remastered maybe even the long awaited sequel! Don’t take away anything just improve it please Sony!

You should add that the new game should also have an amazing soundtrack. Something far too rare today. Thank you for this < 3

Me uno a tantos fans de este maravilloso juego y sería genial ver ese tan esperado remake o bien una secuela digna que respetará toda la historia, ojalá se vuelva realidad
